MANNAHATTA: Soul of the City Central Park New York City
as Sacred Heart Center for
Native American Memorial

Aerial view of Central Park Reservoir that was filled in during the 1930's. The original island of MANNAHATTA was a sacred ceremonial island to the Manhattan Lenape Tribe. This is a vision of placing the once sacred Island into the reinstated reservoir, as a Memorial Island for Mannahatta, the Manhattan Lenape Tribe, and All Tribal Nations

The profoundly & powerfully beautiful work that these Black Artists create from the deep explorations of their contemporary identities, following centuries of horrific African and Caribbean Holocaust, and hugely terrifying trauma, intergenerational  and ongoing in current society, is absolutely phenomenal!  I am deeply humbled.   L.
